Bethlehem College March 2012

Pat’s presentation was very powerful. It has been inspiring to see the progression and development that has occurred in his message over the past few years. Pat’s message relates well to students because he uses real life stories and his personal testimony to bring a powerful message on decision making within the teenage years. He encourages students to make wise choices and to understand that if they don’t make good decisions, there are consequences. I noticed from the presentation that students wanted to stay in the auditorium – not one student was quick to leave. Pat’s pace, tone and spoken communication were very appropriate and related well to senior students. I recommend him for future presentations within Secondary Schools. A very effective presentation including interesting visual images.

Pat came to our school at a time when our students had been investigating how the opinions and suggestions of others can lead us to think and behave in ways that may hold us back from reaching our potential in life. Pat’s presentation gave extra depth to this topic in that it reinforced the idea that you must make good choices in life in order to become the person you were made to be. His visual presentation captivated the student audience and his personal stories gave students much needed insight into the results of poor decision making. Many students stayed behind afterwards to chat with him and to share personal stories of suffering and/or overcoming. This talk was a real blessing to our student community at this time.

Pat Buckley is a man with a punchy message, made all the more effective because of his reference to his own history and experience. He speaks in the language of students, dealing with issues which are real to them. His hard-hitting messages are served up with compassion and concern for the well-being of his audience. Students are made well aware that he speaks this way in order to help them make wise decisions. I have heard Pat several times now and he is always refreshing and ‘real’. He speaks with clarity, vitality, has clear structure and good visuals.

Pat’s presentation is fast-paced and informative. The powerpoint is colourful, easy to read and readily supports his message. He combines stories of his personal experience with vignettes of others that are age appropriate and relevant to today’s teenagers. His presence is commanding on stage and he holds the audience’s attention with ease. He uses just enough humour to keep interest fresh. He had our 500 Year 10 and 11 students rapt the entire time. I would highly recommend him to others.

I found Pat’s presentation to be insightful, concise and relevant. He used language the students could relate with. His imagery was dramatic and thought-provoking. I would recommend his presentation.
